  I have been a patient of Dr. Bornfreund for nearly 10 years. Everything was fine until I lost my health insurance. After getting behind (missing one month's payment) our account was flagged. I have hypertension Level 2 and can die without meds. He refused to give me a 30 day extension when I ran out unless I came in and paid $120 exam fee plus the $430 outstanding bill first. When I told his head nurse that I did not have the money she suggested that I go to the emergency room!! After I groveled they agreed to let me come if I paid $260. Dr. Bornfreund never examined me but he did renew my blood pressure medication. 2 days later they sent me a letter stating that they would no longer be able to treat me!! Ha. 10 years and thousands of dollars later, not to mention the many referrals, I get kicked to the curb....just like that. My mechanic shows more sympathy over having to replace an oil filter. There are a plenty of docs in town that show compassion for their patients, he's just not one of them.
