  I must say, after reading all of the reviews for the Pet Doctor I was very nervous about bringing my chihuahua here to get spayed. I'm from Massachusetts and go to CCU, so our regular vet is over 1000 miles away. I called the Pet Doctor and they got me an appointment lightening fast to bring my dog Luna in for a check up before they decide to spay her. At first I was annoyed thinking this was a way for them to make money, but soon realized they were just making sure she was in good health to be spayed since they've never seen her before. She ended up getting a few more shots, and the vet was very sweet and gentle with her. I made an appointment to get her spayed for less than a week later. Now, a day after getting her spayed I can say this is a great place to take your pet. I was so worried about my puppy and they reassured me that she would be okay, and she came back home like nothing ever happened! Also, I must add that I don't know her name, but the receptionist at the desk is sooo sweet! Try this place out, you won't be upset.

  Avoid this place at all cost! We have been regular customers of The Pet Dr with our dogs for some time. The issue arose over the 4th of July week when our son brought his dogs to the beach and boarded here. As usual, my wife called and made reservations in advance for my sons 2 dogs. They're German Shepards and wonderful dogs. My wife told them during the reservations the ages of the dogs, that they're both female and that they have t been separated since the younger joined the family at Easter. The PetDr reassured my wife that they would be boarded together and quoted a price of $320 for the week for both dogs. When my son dropped the dogs off he was told that the dogs could t be boarded together because of their policy that a dog who wasn't spade can't board with another dog even if they're both female!! WHAT??? They then proceeded to tell my son that EACH dog would now be $320 for the week. When I called to discuss with the person my son was talking with she couldn't have been more rude and condescending. I told her that they told us the price and that the dogs would be boarded together AFTER they knew all of the particulars. Now they are demanding this extra money. This is a prime example of businesses at the beach taking advantage of vacationers because they know that they can and there's little that you can do about it. When I told this manager that we won't pay the extra $320 she told me that we won't get the dogs!!! Well, after reminding her that we're regular customers she basically told me she didn't care. This is the last they've seen of my dogs but not the last they've heard from us. I'm going to consult with a local attorney after the holiday to press the issue.
